That time between when you wake up and when you've set the alarm is, for me, what determines the day.
There is always the temptation to sleep a bit more, thereby giving up on the gentle waking. This happens when my mind is anxious to make sure that I make it to whatever I have planned for the day. But my body has also felt the world shifting outside: I have noticed the sunlight, heard the birds outside, maybe a car or two starting from the parking lot... Even though my eyes naturally opened, it is during that 5, 10 minutes of extra sleep (in today's case, just 4) that I seem to get the best sleep ever. Then, it is difficult to be violently shaken awake from it with my alarm.
